The masks are sewn from cotton and are not N95 or medical grade. Basically, these are a slightly better alternative if you're at the point where you're considering using your bra, a bandana, or a paper bag over your head. Because this is America and our incompetent president and the invisible hand of capitalism haven't managed to make supply and demand sync up, with the result that people are literally sewing masks at home because there's a shortage and you can't buy necessary protective equipment for going outside.

I've tried a few different templates so far and am going to use the Seattle Makers template going forward, because it's quick and allows you to easily insert a filter if you want.
